The role of nutrition in hormonal balance
Hormones influence many functions in the body including mood, energy, metabolism, and sleep. According to Aline, nutrition plays a central role in supporting hormonal balance and overall wellbeing. “Working towards balancing our hormones is so important. Hormones run so much of our body,” she explains.
One of the most important steps is focusing on whole, unprocessed foods that provide the nutrients needed to support hormone production. Aline also highlights the importance of maintaining stable blood sugar levels and including balanced sources of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats in daily meals.

Gut health also plays a significant role in hormonal wellbeing. As she notes, “The gut plays a critical role in our overall health and wellbeing and serves an important role in regulating our hormones.”
For this reason, she encourages a colorful, plant forward diet rich in fiber as well as foods that support the gut microbiome, including those containing probiotics and prebiotics.
A more intentional approach to food
For Aline, supporting hormone health begins with becoming more mindful about the food we eat. Reflecting on her own journey, she shares that it started with becoming more intentional about what she was cooking and consuming. Focusing on nutrient dense whole foods helps support both hormonal balance and long term wellbeing.
Rather than emphasizing restriction, her philosophy centers on adding nourishing foods to everyday meals. As she explains, “Everyone is different, but having a balanced, nutrient rich diet full of quality whole foods is essential for promoting hormonal harmony and overall wellbeing.”

The inspiration behind Happy Hormones
The cookbook Happy Hormones was created through Aline’s collaboration with functional medicine health coach and nutritionist Beth Wright. Together they wanted to create a resource that inspires women to feel empowered in the kitchen and see food as a form of nourishment and care.
“Happy Hormones truly was a labour of love,” she says, explaining that the goal of the book was to encourage women to incorporate more whole foods, diversity, variety and colour into their everyday meals. Rather than focusing on strict rules, the book celebrates the idea that cooking and eating can be joyful while still supporting health.

A recipe to try first
Among the many recipes in the book, Aline recommends starting with the Coconut Flour Lemon Pancakes, a recipe she perfected through multiple rounds of testing. “I absolutely love this recipe because it's made out of coconut flour and they're extremely fluffy and delicious and filling,” she says.
The pancakes are versatile and can be enjoyed as breakfast, a snack, or even a light dessert, reflecting her belief that nourishing food should also feel comforting and enjoyable.

Nourishing women through food
Supporting women’s wellbeing through nutrition does not require complicated routines. Instead, it begins with small daily choices such as prioritizing whole foods, eating a variety of colorful ingredients, and creating balanced meals that nourish the body.
By approaching food with intention and enjoyment, women can support their hormonal health, energy, and overall wellbeing throughout every stage of life.
