Easy DIY Recipes for Natural Self-Care with Moringa

When paired with the nourishing power of moringa oil, these everyday staples transform into luxurious, non-toxic treatments that leave your skin and hair glowing.

At Moringa Project, we’ve been sharing this philosophy through our spa workshops, where participants learn how easy it is to create wellness rituals themselves. Today, we’re bringing a taste of those workshops to you. Here are three easy DIY recipes you can try at home to elevate your self-care routine.

1. Nourishing Moringa Body Scrub

This is the heart of our spa workshops, a body scrub that’s as simple as it is effective. By mixing pantry staples with moringa oil, you get a natural exfoliant that smooths and hydrates in minutes.

What you’ll need:

  • 3 tbsp salt (for exfoliation)
  • 1 tbsp moringa oil (for nourishment)
  • 1 tsp skin-boosting powder of your choice:
    Moringa powder: antioxidant-rich, protects + repairs; Turmeric powder: purify and anti-inflammatory; Carrot powder: beta-carotene boost for glow; Beetroot powder:  brightens dull skin

  • 1 drop Essential oil of your choice: Lavender for relaxation; Lemongrass for energy and uplift; Clary Sage for stress reduction.

Body Scrub

How to use:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl until evenly coated.

  2. Scoop a small amount and gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions.

  3. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

  4. Finish with Moringa Body Oil to lock in hydration.

Why it works: The grains buff away dead skin while moringa oil replenishes moisture, leaving you with a smooth, radiant glow.

2. Restorative Hair Mask for Shine 

If your hair feels dry, dull, or damaged, this simple mask helps restore softness and shine. Yogurt and honey nourish deeply, while moringa oil strengthens and protects.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 tbsp plain yogurt (protein + shine)

  • 2 tbsp honey (moisture)

  • 2 tsp moringa oil (repair + protection)

Hair Mask

How to use:

  1. Mix ingredients until smooth.

  2. Apply to damp hair from mid-lengths to ends.

  3. Leave on for 15–20 minutes.

  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Why it works: This mask hydrates, strengthens, and restores shine — all with natural ingredients.

3. DIY Moringa Lip Scrub

Your lips deserve the same care as your skin. This sweet, nourishing lip scrub is quick to make and leaves lips smooth, soft, and hydrated.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 tsp sugar (exfoliation)

  • ½ tsp honey (softening)

  • ½ tsp moringa oil (deep repair + moisture)

Lip Scrub

How to use:

  1. Mix ingredients into a paste.

  2. Gently massage onto lips for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Rinse with lukewarm water.

  4. Finish with a drop of moringa oil as a natural lip balm.

Why it works: Sugar sloughs off dead skin, honey soothes, and moringa oil heals and hydrates for a naturally plump pout.

4. Refreshing Moringa Tea Eye Soothers

Don’t throw away your tea bags just yet! After enjoying your cup of moringa tea, you can reuse the cooled tea bags as a soothing eye treatment.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 used moringa tea bags

Tea Bag

How to use:

  1. After brewing your tea, let the tea bags cool completely (or chill them in the fridge for 15 minutes).

  2. Place them gently over closed eyes.

  3. Relax for 10–15 minutes.

Why it works: The antioxidants in moringa tea help reduce puffiness, soothe tired eyes, and refresh your look naturally.
